Here
is my picture before I found my new mommie
My
name is Bengi and I am a six year old Yorkshire Terrier and weigh all of two pounds. I was born July 10, 1999. I was
a very fortunate little puppy because I did not come from a Puppy Farm. My
first home was very happy. My entire job was to be a lap hugger so I
learned to do that very well and really fast. I never had any toys to play
with but my first mommie loved me very much. She could not afford to take
me in to the vet and have my teeth cleaned. You see, we Yorkshire
Terriers have a difficult time with our teeth and we lose them if we don’t go
in to have them cleaned frequently. Some of us even lose our lower jaw
because it just falls off. As time went on my teeth got worse and worse
every day until they were all black. My teeth were hurting and I would not
eat anymore. I was almost skin and bones when my first mommie realized I
needed help and she could not give it to me because she lived by herself and was
on a fixed income. So she called this lady that takes in little fellas
like me that need help. I thought I was going to live with this new lady
forever but she said “NO, Bengi,…..I will find you a new mommie”.
That lady’s name was
Linda
.
Another
lady came to stay with
Linda
and brought her three little companions with her. She had this one little
girl that was really sick and didn’t know what was wrong. She
would scream and cry. I could tell that little girl hurt bad but I could not do
anything to help her. So what I did was make sure that little girl’s
mommie knew I loved her and guess what she did…..she took me home with her.
She left that sick little girl behind and took me to my new home.
Then went back to get her. Oh my….that little girl was sick for awhile
but she is a happy girl once again. It is not my job to be a lap hugger,
it is my job to see if I can get to the lap first. My job was supposed to
be run and play but I never did learn to do that. I am now a happy little
fella because my new forever mommie had my teeth cleaned. She makes me so
mad sometimes though. She sticks this what she calls a toothbrush in my
mouth and tells me it is for my own good. I try to bite her finger when
she does that but she is too smart and way bigger than me so I am giving that
up. I still don’t like it though but you know what???, it does feel so
much better. I can eat now and my teeth do not hurt.
I
love my forever home now. I have been here over two years now.
There are four of us racing for mommie’s lap. She makes sure we all take
turns for the best place ever.

This one that was taken in August

Thank you to Mr.
& Mrs. Laick
30th October 2005
Most of you know I have four yorkies. Went
to a Yorkie picnic today with four and came
home with three. I will return to my friend's house when Bengi
is returned after cremation. It was tragic....such a tiny little
fella. He hit his head against a pole
and suffered extreme trauma from almost
nothing. How fast it went was unbelievable. It happened
right at my feet and I couldn't help him. I
am totally distraught right now.
I
remember
the
day
I
first
laid
eyes
on
you,
my
little
Bengi-Boy.
You
were
so
very
precious
and
I
had
no
clue
why
you
came
into
my
life
at
such
a
bleak
time
but
you
did.
I
was
so
afraid
you
entered
my
life
to
take
the
place
of
a
very
special
little
yorkie
that
was
very
sick
and
needed
surgery
to
survive.
You
did
not
come
in
to
replace
her
as
I
learned,
you
found
your
own
special
little
place.
I
was
so
proud
to
have
you
become
part
of
my
yorkie
family
and
it
took
me
the
longest
time
to
figure
out
why
you
were
sent
to
me.
Now
I
have
to
figure
out
why
you
left
just
as
fast
as
you
came
in.
I
miss
you
so
much
my
little
Bengi-Boy.
You
will
always
be
with
me.
You
were
so
clever
and
left
your
pawprints
in
the
right
place
on
my
heart
that
no
one
can
ever
take
away.
I
loved
the
way
you
would
snuggle
up
to
me
when
you
wanted
out
of
the
carrier.
Your
warm
tiny
body
curled
up
right
next
to
my
neck
felt
so
relaxing.
When
the
mornings
were
a
little
chilly,
you
would
use
your
little
muzzle
to
slither
under
the
blankets
to
warm
up.
When
you
were
comfortable,
you’d
slither
right
back
up
to
my
neck
in
a
tiny
little
ball.
I’d
have
my
hand
on
you
to
let
you
know
I
loved
you
there
with
me.
I
loved
the
way
you
would
bounce
up
and
down
with
your
tender
little
bark
wanting
to
be
on
my
lap
when
I
sat
at
the
computer.
I
am
having
a
difficult
time
sitting
there
right
now
because
I
can
still
see
you
bouncing
back
and
forth
letting
me
know
you
wanted
to
be
picked
up
and
lay
on
my
lap.
You
would
do
the
same
thing
every
time
I
sat
down.
I
loved
the
way
you
would
roll
out
that
little
red
carpet
giving
kisses
every
time
I
picked
you
up.
You
never
liked
to
be
held
though.
You
wanted
to
sit
right
beside
me
without
being
held.
I
loved
the
way
you
enjoyed
your
little
belly
rubs.
I
would
sing
you
a
little
song
while
rubbing
your
tummy:
“Bennie-Boy,
my
Bennie-Boy
My
itty-bitty
Bennie-Boy
Oh
how
I
love
my
Bennie-Boy
My
Bengie-Bengie-Boy”
You
loved
that
little
song
and
when
you
thought
you
had
enough
you
would
wiggle
to
be
put
down.
I
loved
the
way
you
would
run
back
and
forth
from
door
to
door
when
I
came
home
from
work.
Your
little
tail
would
wag
back
and
forth
showing
your
excitement
seeing
me
again.
Oh,
if
I
could
only
see
you
again
wagging
that
little
tail!!!
It
is
all
just
a
memory
now~~a
memory
that
will
never
fade
away.
I
loved
the
way
you
would
give
me
a
smile.
Every
picture
I
took
to
work
had
a
smile
on
your
face.
Everyone
knew
you
were
happy
and
commented
you
always
looked
like
you
were
smiling.
Oh,
if
they
ever
saw
your
real
smile
they
would
have
been
amazed.
You
would
give
that
quick
little
smile
to
show
off
your
pearly
whites.
I
loved
the
way
you
would
hop
around
and
turn
in
a
circle.
I’d
say
“Dance,
Bengi,
Dance”
and
you’d
turn
in
that
circle
a
few
more
times
for
me.
That
was
so
adorable!
You
did
that
for
no
one
but
me!
It
makes
no
sense
to
me
why
you
left
me
so
soon.
Your
reason
for
being
with
me
was
accomplished.
You
made
me
very
happy
and
I
miss
you
so
much!
